Did you take Trigonometry before you took Physics?

I was looking at the Physics course I wanted to take my Junior year, and it says Trig is strongly recommended, but I’ll be taking it while I’m taking this course. Will it be harder if you don’t know Trig beforehand?

Answer #1

Seeing as trig was part of a math class, then, yes….how other schools do this, I don’t know.

Answer #2

No, I took physics as a sophmore and I was only in alebra 2.

Answer #3

At my school you had to have at least be taking Math 3 - which 3/4 of it was trig - at the same time as taking the full year physics or have taken it the before.

whether or not it will be harder for you I don’t know. I already had some trig, and took Math 3 and before I took Physics. But Physics is very math intensive, and I do remember using trig a decent amount when working with vectors & ballistic pendulums and a few other things.

Answer #4

Trig will help you a lot in Physics, but it may be a good thing that you take them together. That way you can apply theories from each to each other. I took trig first, but I don’t see a problem with you taking them together.

Answer #5

Did you pass?

Answer #6

I was taking it in 7th grade AP math

Answer #7

Answer #8

Answer #9
