Does anyone have any tips on babysitting?

like how to send a child to bed stuff like that xx ?

Answer #1

depends on how old they are but when i used to babysit i just put on cartoon network for them or a movie they liked and had them lay down and watch it till they fell asleep

Answer #2

How old is the child? Do the parents have a set bedtime? You can read a story for them or sing to them. If the child is old enough he/ she can do 1/2 hr to 1 hr of reading by themselves just before bed. A warm bath also helps relax them.

Answer #5

Don’t drop him on his head

Answer #6

wow that’s a lot. they are all full of energy @ those ages. I have a six year old as well as a 10 yr old. I let them play outside till dinner time, come in have dinner, a bath the 10 year old plays about 1 hr of video games QUIETLY while the 6 yr old draws or colors or builds a puzzle, then the 6 yr old gets read to while the 10 yr old does some reading with a book of his choice. Basically you are the authoritative figure and they need to listen to you

Answer #7

Oh, yeah, pop the poor kid in front of the television.

Answer #8

yeah, drop him on his back instead. Pfffttt.

I would see if they like to color. If so you could put some newspaper down so that they dont get any on the table or floor. Also, hide and seek is fun for kids that age. You could help them hide :) If they are girls, you can play hair salon! When I babysat as a teenager i would try out different hairstyles on them. hope this helps :)

I’ve been babysitting for the same family for so long now that they treat more like family cept i get paid :) i always take them somthing like at christmas i took a cracker making kit and chocolates they loved them! I am also a great believer in bribery :D the youngest loves having baths so we make deals like you can watch half this film and have a bath if you go to bed at this time

It is a bit hard if they sleep in different rooms. You must take them to bed one by one. Maybe this could help. I usually bring all my four kids to my oldest daughter (11) we all say good bye to her, give her good night kisses. Then we all go to my second boy’s room (9). we do the same thing. Last I take the 5,5 and 3 year old kids (the are in the same room). telling some stories and pretend to be tired and start snoring :LOL… Just do not take kids to bed too early, this will make them wake up in bed for too long and get depressed. Playing a bit hard activities like riding horse will make them a bit of using their energy. Soon they will get tired. After having them to clean themselves… they usually go to sleep fast… GOOD LUCK.
