What are some good tips for auditioning for plays?

Answer #1

be confidant and make are willing to make sacrifices in order to keep the part you get if you have to change your schedule around

Answer #2

Thanks :) But I meant tips for the actual audition :)

Answer #3

still be confident and possibly memorize some of the lines of the character you are trying out for. also you should use lots of inflection in your voice and use projection

Answer #4

Make sure to have something memorized if they’ve asked you to. If you can read off of a script, don’t hold it all the way up to your face. Hold it lower and take glances at it every so often. Other than that.. just relax! Remember to speak loudly and clearly and try to act natural. Don’t think of it so much as “acting” but more as “being” the character! And don’t worry about being judged by anyone that’s watching you, just pretend you are the greatest actor ever and have fun with it and you’ll be fine haha.

exacly i always make sure i do that and i normally always get the part(:

don’t overact, but show you know how to perform! people (and the judges) love someone who can entertain them with something simple. so don’t choose a poem or song that is amazing and complicated and doesn’t fit you. Sing something that fits your tone and range, and recite somthing interesting, but not totally huge, like a gigantic stanza from shakspeare (unless you have auditioned for like 20 plays and really know your stuff) . Also, have fun, and let your feelings out in your audition, but don’t overact. Just try to act…naturally :)
