What do you think the appropriate age to wear makeup is?

I started at 12. My sister did when she was 9 and shes 3 years younger then me. Personally I think these little kids are trying to look to old with all this. Its like? 7 going on 17…. and it just looks bleck.

I started at 13, I think that is the appropriate age. Just because you really can’t stop teenagers from doing silly things like applying makeup.

I started when I was 13, even though my mom wanted me to apply makeup until i was 15, I did it anyways :$ I always liked makeup & now i’m thinking about getting into beauty school:) I agree with Victorian you really can’t stop teens from doing those things anymore

I think around 13-14.. I don’t think it’s a big deal as long as it’s just subtle and doesn’t look trashy.

I started to wear make-up around the age of 14-15, I wasn’t into it that much, until I wanted to try something ‘new’ and liked it. So anywhere of a young teen.

pretty much any age that the kid can talk fluently and can handle carrying makeup. there are even moms who put their children into baby pagents.

I started wearing makeup when I was about 11, but nobody taught me how to use it well, so obviously it wasnt very good. I think it is perfectly acceptable to start wearing makeup as a pre-teen, as long as you keep it natural looking and age/event appropriate. If you don’t know who to ask or where to look for makeup advice like styles and how to apply it, there are millions of incredibly helpful YouTube makeup tutorials by thousands of great makeup artists that can teach you how to use makeup in any style. So basically, I think wearing makeup at any age is fine as long as you know how to use it by getting a proper idea of what is appropriate for you.
