Why is it a crime not to go to school (read details)?

why do teachers and adults that work in schools always call people or cops to take students that don’t really go to school away from they parents?

Answer #1

its the parents fault the chils is not going to school…I don’t know.

Answer #2

Sometimes parents do not enforce what is best on their own and need to be held accountable. If a parent is not seeing to it that a person is learning the skills required to be productive in life, then the child should be located in an environment where that will take place.

Answer #3

If a student misses a few days off school, they won’t take the kid away from his/her parents. But more often than not, the kids that are rarely at school, will have other problems at home too. Those other problems (abuse, illegal substances…) will then lead to the child being taken away. Good parents don’t let their kid wag school.

Answer #4

If the student is under the “drop-out” age, then they have to, is in their rules and they have to do it, so they can find out what is causing this, and stuff. Also because education is important, without it, you bassically nothing, so at the end they are really helping you out.

Answer #5

Not going to school is called “truancy.” It’s illegal. If a kid is under the dropout age, then they are also under the legal age, and their parents are accountable for their actions. Renee is perfectly right, the children most likely have other problems at home, but they would have to peer around and figure out just what those problems are before going to the extreme of taking the kids away. After detentions and other kids of little punishments for the student, they start examine the situation and take the kid to therapy sessions to find out what the cause of the misses are.
