tattoos and showering

my tattoo is a week old and its on my upper back. can I take a shower yet (I usually take baths) and shampoo my hair (since the shampoo will run down my back)..is that ok?

yes you can get a shower… just don’t scrub the area of your tattoo.

also do not pick your scabs even though they will itch like crazy. Make sure you apply A&D ointment to your tattoo regularly (several times a day) to aid in the healing process and keep the site from getting infected.

Don’t use lotion on the tattoo.

You can take a shower immediatly after you get a tattoo. It does not hurt anything.

I think a little water wont kill it. now I have never had any of mine get wet. just dont submerg it in any water, it can take the ink out

Well I have a tattoo on my lower back. And when I got it done they told me its totaly fine to take a shower. Just don’t stay in the water to long and make sure its not that hot. And its fine for the shampoo to run down. It won’t hurt it. Hope I helped. =]
