Should I get a tattoo?

I want to get a tattoo but people are confusing me now and I dont know what to do to. I want to have my name written in chinses at the lower back of my neck but people tell me its not good,or that intelligent people dont do stupid things like that,or a tattoo on your spine is dangerous,or when you put it its for life bla bla bla bla,… im so confused, can someone help me out here

Answer #1

I really wouldn’t get something with Chinese characters, because like someone else said, if the translation is wrong, you’re screwed.
Also, Chinese characters are just a trend right now, and most people who get them have no idea what they mean.

Answer #2

Like everyone has said, make sure it can be covered up (think about future job, and also how it’s going to look when you’re 50…) But if you really want one, and are sure about it, nothing wrong with it… And ofcourse it hurts… a needle is poking at your skin, but it’s not unbearable…

Answer #3

come on, dont let peoplkes veiws stop you from getting something you want! if you want a tattoo, get one. simple as but be careful, chinese letters put together can mean completely different words, so do some reasearch and try to find a good place that has done chinese writting before.

Well I personally don’t like tattoos because I change my mind wayy to often to get something that will stay with me for the rest of my life. But if its just the pain you’re worried about, I say go for it. It last a lifetime so you should be able to stay some minutes of pain.

Answer #5

They don’t all hurt like hell, like only like 3 of mine hurt a lot. Depends what part of your body its done on.

Answer #6

No, seriously, don’t even think about getting a tattoo! Those people who are telling you things are right. It will hurt like hell (I don’t have any, but I saw someone getting theirs done, and they were screaming so loud.) Trust me, if you want to be happy, don’t get 1!

lol ‘underwaterophelia’… My mom and I got Chinese characters and we were SO scared of that but we really wanted “mother/daughter” together so we got it. Then like a month later I walked into a convenient store and the tattoo was showing (its on my arm) and the Chinese guy started pointing at it going “mother daughter!” I was sooo happy to know it said the right thing. I’d probley never get anymore though, because your right… theres a high chance of it saying something totally different and that would suck.

I love tattoos, so I think if you want one you should get one. It’s your body and your choice. But don’t rush into getting one, that’s what I did and now every time I look at my tattoo I get more annoyed with it - get it in a good location and make sure you’re 100% happy with the design as it is with you for life. I think you should be able to easily cover it up - think of your future job - a visible tattoo may not be appropriate. I wish I had found this site before I had my tattoo done :( haha, maybe I would have made a more informed decision!

Answer #9

if you want it, get it. it’s as simple as that.

Answer #10

your body your choice

Answer #11

If its something that means something to you and is easy to cover up - I don’t see the harm in it. (I have 8 tattoos)
