Tampon won't go in!!

okay. so I have had my period for 2 days now (it’s not my first time) and I decided to try tampons out since I hate pads. I used the tampax sport and I know where the v*gina is but it when I try to put the tampon in, it kinda hurts and im too scared to put it in… and it may be because I don’t have the right direction but what direction do you go in?!? im scared.

if its your first time, you might want to try lying down and you can put some vaseline on the applicator to help it go in easier then you can just kinda follow the direction it goes in and after the first time its no problem

Answer #2

Try using the type of tampon labeled ‘slender’. Rest one foot on the toilet seat and gently insert the tampon, angling it towards your back. If your vagina is extremely dry after removing your last tampon, or there isn’t much discharge for lubricant and that’s what’s making it difficult, try using a lower absorbency tampon. Your first time inserting a tampon may be a bit uncomfortable, but just get determined, get it in and you’ll have enough practice in no time. =)

jlw82 is correct. I just want to add, if you struggle to get it in, go and buy some ky jelly (a lubricant) from the pharmacy (you don’t have to be shy because it is used for a variety of things) and use that when inserting the tampon. It will make it go in easier.

Also remember that practice makes perfect. A lot of girls don’t get it right the first time

And beccaj, Vaseline is DANGEROUS for females to use in that area.
