How do I use a Tampax secretly?

Okay. So I read all of your responses, and most of them Said I should suck it up and wear a tampon. So my mom said that since I’m so young I can’t wear one, and I just can’t swim. So I really really really really want to swim and my sisterr wears tampons. So I have no idea how to use one and how can I wear it secretly?

If you’re old enough to physically have your period, you’re old enough to wear a tampon. You should talk to your mom. She’s a women; she should understand. If that doesn’t work out, ask your sister if you can use some of hers. Since you don’t know how to use one, read the directions and if you can’t get it, ask your sister for a demonstation (not a literal demonstation). Keeping it a secret is the easy part, make sure if you tell your sister that she knows to keep her mouth shut and make sure you’re tampon string doesn’t hang out. If you decide to wear them even though your mom told you not to, don’t do it behind her back. Instead, tell her that you respect her opinion, but you are old enough to need them sometimes now, and so you are going to wear them when you need them, but you are not going to lie to her about it.

If you can’t do that, then swim when you are not menstruating.
