Are you "surprised" to learn that doctors often lie to their patients?

Not really. they either lie about something to scare you and get more money . Or they lie to not get sued about a mistake they made that turned into something serious. They are human and make mistakes but lives are on the line and its horrible when someone gets mis diagnosed. Expecially after all the money and stress they put into it

Nothing surprises me anymore.

According to the link, 1 in 10 (10%) doctors admit lying. 20% of doctors admitting withholding information as CYA. 34% said they did not agree that doctors should disclose all medical errors to patients. Turning it around, 90% of doctors claim to be truthful with patients, 80% claim not to have withheld incriminating information from patients, and 66% thought doctors should disclose all medical mistakes to patients. The 55% presenting prognoses more favorable than they were, weren’t stretching the truth for personal gain but trying to help the patient. Based on this I’d have to say that doctors seem far more truthful than other professionals. Do you think lawyers, engineers, bankers, officers, etc. are this truthful?

Not at all….the growing number of people turning to holistic and alterntive medicine coincides with the lack of trust in the medical field. If you look up the FBI white collar crimes site ….A good number of “wanted” are Doctors and Nurses scamming patients.

Oh and on that FBI vs Medical field ….a growing problem is Medical ID theft a serious and possibly lethal problem for the victims of medical id theft. The FTC has a site pertaining to Medical ID theft, for anyone interested in learning more.

Nope! I dont trust doctors! But thats because I study science and it seems to me medical doctors just memorise stuff without too much understanding of the science. Last time I saw my doctor, he had no idea what to do about the issue I had, but I think he knows better than to lie to me. We read the book together! I dont mind that, I dont expect doctors to know about every medical condition ever.

Nope. Some people are not that smart in their profession, and some doctors aren’t either.

Not at all considering they have become legalized drug dealers. I wouldn’t expect a drug dealer to tell the truth.
