A hysterectomy is actually the complete removal of the uterus. It’s not the same as getting your tubes tied. Spaying is when the uterus is removed and neauturing is “snipping”, both terms for animals.

Hysterectomy is where they remove your uterus. You can just ask to get your tubes tied, however most doctors are stupid and want you to breed first, so good luck convincing one that you are capable of making your own decisions.

Its called a tubal ligation and generally your OB doc does the surgery, but beware most want you to have atleast one baby first but don’t let them convince you not to do it if you really want to do it

Why do you ask? I am pretty sure that you, at 18, are not considering this form of permanent sterilization. Most sane doctors will not perform this surgery on young, unmarried females. On humans, it is performed on women who have too many children and can’t tolerate commonly used methods to avoid a pregnancy. It cost anywhere between $2000 and $6000 and to have it reversed can’t double that cost and might not even be reversible.
