Subject and Topic

I am confusing when I use the word subject and topic. Please let me know in what situation I should use topic and in what situation I should use subject.

Subject: Nature Topic: Endangered animals

Subject: Technology Topic: Is the iPhone worth it?

Subject: Parenting Topic: Tips on having a healthy pregnancy

They can be used interchangeably, as they have the same general definition and purpose, except when the subject is in reference to an object.

When speaking, for example, if you say you want to speak about “computers”, the discussion can either be the topic, or the subject.

When you say “The man is bald”, then “man” is the subject, but not the topic, where “bald” would be the topic if you were discussing baldness.

I’m not sure if this made any sense.
