Why is my computer audio squeaking?

basically for a while now everything, every noise, every type of music, sound whatever from my computer is much higher pitched. Almost like when you fast fowarded a tape or something. What’s wrong with it? is it the computer mucked up or the speakers? or both?! how can I fix it? It’s really bugging me, artists like kayne west sound like mika, and mika sounds like he is an alien on helium ballons. help please…

Answer #1

There are a few things that come to mind that could be causing it - the speaker plug might not be connected in the socket properly; the software drivers might be mucked-up and need to be re-installed; or the sound card itself is on the way out and needs to be replaced. Check the plug first, see if that makes any difference…

Answer #2

probably both. I had a comp at my old school to to that. I think you can go to your audio settings and slow it down. its worth a shot/

Answer #3

That happened to me on my old laptop. It turned out something was wrong with my hardrive and then it finally stopped working altogether. Take it to a computer shop and get it checked out =]
