the same thing happend to me except I tryes out for basketball in the 8th grade and didnt make it but my bestfriend did and he botherd me about it but I knew he was just jokin around so dont worry about that . so what I did is I practiced hard all year and when the try outs for 9th and 10th graders came up I had got better and I made the team so just practice hard and you will be fine
