Scrapbooking-How to remove temporary/perm glue from photos

I just finished making a memorial photo display board of my father for his funeral service. I used temporary glue tape. At the last minute I ran out of the temporary glue tape and switch to small adhesive squares The adhesive squares that I ended having to use stated that initially, one could remove or rearrange the photos but then it was also permanent. I am taking apart the display and while I’ve been able to remove the photos from the board I am un sure how I remove the temporary glue tape and squares from the back of the photos. How does one do this with out damaging the photos? I’d appreciate any advice or some successful instructions for how to remedy my problem

I would try to use goo gone (I think that is how you spell it) lol. But it is a yellow liquid so you will have to put it on a paper towel and just rub it on the back of the photo surface and whatever it was sticking to. Make sure you do not put gobs of it on the towel becaus it is really oily when you get it on something it is not meant to go on. It can be bought at walmart or most stores sometimes even places like dollar general but make sure you get the name brand or it will be pointless.
