School uniforms? Are they bad or good?..

I am doing an essay in school & its on school uniforms & its a discursive essay! can you give me a few ideas of why they are good & why they are bad ;(! quickquickquick! thanks Cazz ;d!

good: clothing is often a sign of wealth. those who cant afford the nicest clothes might get picked on. with everyone wearing the same, no one can tell. makes the school look a bit more respectable I guess..suppose it gives a sense of cohesion amongst the kids? also probably the biggest thing I can think of is knowing who is from your school. you are more inclined to help a kid from your school who is being beat on than one who isn’t aren’t you. I was walking back from school with a friend when we saw a kid getting moved to by some gimp. We knew we had to help him because he was from our school. Sounds bad but if he wasnt in uniform we wouldnt have helped him as much…we would have just shouted at the guy giving him grief.

bad: total loss of individuality.

they are very good because it causes less cliques. They are equalizers. They allow everyone to be equal then no one is made fun of for their clothes because all of you look the same. Less bullying and more confidence comes out of uniforms. I wish my school had uniforms so I wouldn’t have to worry about which clothes I’m going to wear the next day. I hope this helps
