I'm not a romantic girl..!

I’ve been with my boyfriend for 1year now ( today ) and he’s in the marines… So I decided to text him and tell him happy 1year but it sounds to common and very plain. Is there another way to say happy 1year without sounding so plain? Any ideas will be appreciated! Thank you -s

Tell him “Happy first anniversary” then tell him reasons why you love or care about him and why it’s been such a great year. You could also add in that you cannot wait to see him again and miss him, if in fact, you cannot wait or miss him.

Tell him you’re thinking about him a lot, and remind him of a memory of the two of you that you cherish.

Start off with special moments that you’ve shared together - first kiss, first date, first time you met his parents…ect, tell him how all these sweet memories add up to a happy one year of being together. Then end it off with how much you miss him and can’t waith for him to get back and see him! (:
