are the predictions in the book of revelation true???

I believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God - true from cover to cover - see my profile (amblessed) for some helpful sites - Happy Thanksgiving !!

Answer #2

I’m not going to address all this except you should find an online collage and Study poetic language. . . then you will better understand. Now as for the questions Does your church believe that they are the only ones to be saved??No we believe that those who obey the word of God completely will be saved which includes baptism. And that baptism is what saves a person? No obeying the formula God gave us for salvation which includes Baptism you will be saved Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Act 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Act 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Act 8:13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. Act 8:15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: Act 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Act 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? Act 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Act 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Act 9:18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized. Act 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? Act 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Act 16:14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. Act 16:15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us. Act 16:33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. Act 18:8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized. Act 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. Act 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. Act 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Act 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. **I am not aware of any other church in Christiandom that believes this way, so apparently this church stands alone, apart from all the others??? Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Yes, I am a member of the Church of Christ and I will give you a major clue in reading Revelations the name in greek ( the language the book was wrote in.) is Apocalypse which means lifting of the veil. At the time the book was wrote Christianity was a death offense so they wrote it in a figurative language that the Romans would not readily understand like a figurative poem.

The Mark of the Beast … Rev. 13 the Judean population that did not except Christ judgement seat of Christ…Rev.20 The destruction of Jerusalum in 70 A.D. 1000 year reign of Christ… Rev. 20 Figurative - The Church coming to age, 70 A.D. when Satan was bound… Rev. 20 figurative 70 A.D. The beast & the false prophet have been destroyed by fire…Rev. 19 the Destruction of Jerusalum. Death & Hell cast into the Lake of Fire… Rev. 20 The Church comes to age. All things have not been made new… Rev. 21 The Church comes to age. the Destruction of Jerusalum. Nor has the New Jerusalem come down from Heaven Rev. 21 The Church comes to age. the New Jerusalum is the Church. All tears have not been wiped away… Rev. 21 The Church comes to age. I Believe that Christ will come like a thief in the night with no warning signs or clues. And only God the Father knows that time. 1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. So If the signs of Revelations refer to the Destruction of Earth, We are getting signs to warn us of the end and that would mean the two scriptures I quoted are lies in that you never know when a thief is coming.

WE are on topic, and I am not a first century Jewish person, I am a 20th century Christian, and I feel that I have a right to challange your views, in regard to the book of Revelations, since it is entirely different from what I believe as well as every other church that calls itself Christian. I would not do this, except for the fact that you stated clearly above that Revelations had been fullfilled… and I believe that to be something that would totally confuse a sincere person that was seeking the truth, so, I want to make it clear that your church is the only church that believes that. The people now reading this can decide for themselves, who or what is right or wrong. But, as far as my conscience goes, this was way too much to not address.. I am not sure why we stand alone in this discussion, and why others are not involved, with their viewpoints, and perhaps they will come later, but, at least both viewpoints are made plain, and I am willing to leave it at that, and hope there is no hard feelings, it just needed to be made clear in my thinking. I suppose if we are both saved by the blood of Jesus, that we are brothers and sisters in Christ, and will live together for eternity, even if we have two different understandings of the same book. God Bless..

Answer #5

The end of time, as we know it, is what you say has already happened… What else could be left.. .if the very last chapter of the book is already fulfilled? Yet, everything remains the same… I see nothing that has changed…nor have I seen any record in history to back up this theory.

Also, I see the empathis above on works.. us saving ourselves, instead of constantly relying on what has already been done for us. After what Christ did for us, I see everything else as things that we can gladly do, because of the new condition of our heart, not something that we have to do to earn salvation. I think there is a big difference. Works are an outpouring of love, not a necessity to remain saved or to become saved. I feel the blood alone is what keeps me, and I rest in that… that brings great joy to my heart, to know that I am free from the condemnation of the law, to serve a risen savior.

You refuse to answer a small question, yet, make a very long extended post on another topic.

The empathis in the Catholic Church, is on Mary. And it seems the empathis in this church is on Baptism, and our ability to keep ourselves.

You might feel under attack with these questions that I posed, and I am not meaning it that way at all. I respect your position, and your work here on the board, but, since you brought up the subject, and it is completely different from the way I believe, I felt it needed to be addressed. There is much confusion, and if there is any way to clear any of it up, I think it should be done. At least it is out there, for others to consider. Hopefully it won’t do harm to someone seeking the truth.

Answer #6

* The end of time, as we know it, is what you say has already happened… I am so sorry I did not realize you were a first century Jewish person. . . I’m not refusing to answer I just want to give you a complete answer that has been thought our and studied. the emphasis of our church is on obeying the Will of our Lord and Savior completely. When I pray I Always include “thy will be done”. And as for the old saying about the church that we believe we are the only ones going to heaven. . . that’s not true. We believe that anyone that obeys the will of God is going to heaven. If you wish to discuss this further Just funmail me and I’ll be glad to discuss it. . . Now lets get back on topic.

Answer #7

Remember what Christ said folks, about this very subject. “The season you will know, but not the exact time. No one knows but the Father who sent Me.” Keep in mind that we, the church, must be ready at all times. We must plead we mankind to exhort them and warn those who are perishing in their sins. When a lifeguard sees a shark approaching a beach full of swimmers, does he just sit and watch the action? Happy Thankgiving to my American friends.

Answer #8

Yes, they are true !!! But, I disagree totaly with rnealw…

How on earth could you believe that???

What part of Christianity do you belong to?

Church of Christ?

How confusing…

The Mark of the Beast has not yet come… Rev. 13

There has been no judgement seat of Christ…Rev.20

There has been no 1000 year reign of Christ… Rev. 20

There has been no period of time, when Satan was bound… Rev. 20

The beast & the false prophet have not been destroyed by fire…Rev. 19

Death & Hell have not been cast into the Lake of Fire… Rev. 20

All things have not been made new… Rev. 21

Nor has the New Jerusalem come down from Heaven Rev. 21

All tears have not been wiped away… Rev. 21

If you believe that, what on earth do you think is yet to come???

Answer #9

RNEALW…

I still totally disagree with this concept… however, time will surely tell…

The Mark of the Beast … Rev. 13 the Judean population that did not except Christ

(those people did not receive a mark in the forehead or in their right hand, nor were they not allowed to buy or sell because of that mark)

judgement seat of Christ…Rev.20 The destruction of Jerusalum in 70 A.D.

(this would mean that the dead in Christ rose first, and history has no recollection of this ever happening)

1000 year reign of Christ… Rev. 20 Figurative - The Church coming to age, 70 A.D.

(how do you get 1000 years out of that, and how or why do you think it would be put in there as figurative?)

when Satan was bound… Rev. 20 figurative 70 A.D.

(what kind of evidence have you seen to make you believe that Satan has ever been bound on this earth? There has never been a time of peace, when he was not bringing evil upon people, and especially not 1000 years.. figurative or not)

The beast & the false prophet have been destroyed by fire…Rev. 19 the Destruction of Jerusalum.

(who was the beast and who was the false prophet, that were destroyed, and what was their influence on earth, that is not here now)

Death & Hell cast into the Lake of Fire… Rev. 20 The Church comes to age.

( death happens every day… so, how is it done away with? and if hell is already done away with, what is going to happen to all the wicked people on earth now?? They will not have a hell to fear, nor a place to go, when they die, for the sure can’t go to heaven. If you leave them on the earth, that would not be fair to the others that have supposedly already gone to hell.)

All things have not been made new… Rev. 21 The Church comes to age. the Destruction of Jerusalum.

(What I see is a world that is decaying, growing old.. having its resources depleted, just as the bible says it will. What have you seen, or has been recorded in history that shows anything being made new)

Nor has the New Jerusalem come down from Heaven Rev. 21 The Church comes to age. the New Jerusalum is the Church.

(The New Jerusalem is spoken of as a city.. not a person. It has a great high wall…with 12 gates…with 12 angels at the gates…on the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. Three gates on the east, three gates on the North, three on the south, and three on the west… The city was measured, the length the width and the bredth are given…The walls are jasper, the city itself is pure gold, the foundations were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The gates were made of pearl. The street are pure gold. There is no temple, because Jesus is the temple, and he is in the midst, the city needs no sun nor moon to light it, because Jesus is the Light. Nothing impure will enter, only those whose names are written in the Lambs Book Of Life.) ( How on earth can your church doctrine change this to people?)

All tears have not been wiped away… Rev. 21 The Church comes to age.

(And when does that happen? And after that?)

Also, since this topic has come up, Does your church believe that they are the only ones to be saved?? And that baptism is what saves a person? Also, I am not aware of any other church in Christiandom that believes this way, so apparently this church stands alone, apart from all the others???

Answer #10
