Why did I receive an old text message as a new one?

I have an Android Samsung Nexus S and I received a text at 2 am last night from my ex, which is weird cause he hasn’t texted in months. The entire conversation we had was deleted, and the only text I received from him was a duplicate of something he sent me months ago. What does this mean? Is there something wrong with my phone, or is there a possibility I was hacked?

It’s just a random glitch. I can promise you, you were not hacked. This happens every now and then to all cellular devices. Remember, they are a piece of equipment, they’re not ALWAYS going to function properly.

I hope this helped!
