Reading Makes Me Sick (literally)

Why is it that when I read books, I find myself becoming sick? My eyes don’t get stressed or anything…and I don’t get sick while reading text from far away or on the web. I remember the last time I read the newspaper I had acquired a headache and nausea…I think that was caused by the smell. Why would this happen?

Answer #1

it could be psychological, I remember reading somewhere of this disorder (not meant badly, that’s just how they are called) that was triggered from reading text that was close together or something like that, you could go to a shrink, its not as degrading as it sounds, and its for your own good…

Answer #2

Well I don’t see how I’d need glasses! O.o I only get sick when I read books, newspapers, and magazines.. and I noticed that the smell of them irritates me. I recently had my vision checked and it was like super good…so I don’t think I need glasses.

Answer #3

They may not have checked for longsighted vision, it does sound like you need glasses…

Answer #4

I think that can mean that you need to get glasses. I used to get headaches while I read before I had glasses.

Answer #5

ask your doc, he’ll probably have the best answers. :)
