I asked this guy to a dance for tomorrow night, today–his reply was that he didn’t want to go to the dance, but I didn’t have enough time to ask him to do something else… How do I ask him if he wants to skip the dance tomorrow night and go to the movies or something without seeming desperate?

Well just tell him be like ok so you dont want to go to the dance I understand. So if your not busy would you like to hang out or do something else. I just want to hang with you and get to know you better if thats ok with you.
