Random music thought

I graduated high school in 2005 and I decided to grab some old cd’s and mixes I made from the early-mid 2000’s. it may not be really long ago but it feels like it for me. after playing a bunch of them I realized how they really made me reminisce. I dont wanna come off all lame or whatever but I feel like so many songs made between ‘01-‘05 had a lot of good melody and quality to them. I know im biased for having been in high school then but in a completely objective way a lot of the music really seems consistently good and like I said, melodic. am I alone in this thought? I know its random and maybe not explained well, but I played about 15-20 songs that were hits then, then I played about 15-20 made between 06/07 and now and felt a big difference
