It really depends on the type of dog. Some dogs like basset hounds have a smell to them no matter how much you bathe them. And of course you aer responsible for the upkeep of the animal. So if you keep them well groomed and train them to use the bathroom outside, they should be fairly clean. Also, don’t bathe a dog more than once a week because it will dry out their skin and cause them to have dandruff.
If you keep them clean, no. But puppies do have little accidents. So if you want a clean animal, I suggest you get something smaller and caged :)
