Should I work or go to college?

Right now i’m studying at college but i recently got a job that pays very well but the problem is that it doesn’t have a flexible schedule and i can’t be at two places at once so, Should i quit my job and keeo atending college? or leave a semester of college and continue working?

I think you need to just answer one question - Can I financially afford to quit this job right now and school only ? - if ‘yes’ then school it is - if ‘no’ work/save up for return.

I wish you the best !!

I guess the real question is if this is a job you really enjoy or not. Just because you’re being paid “very well” isn’t going to help if you hate what you’re doing.

Also, do you think that if you were to take a semester off, would you really go back? If you really like the job, are you going to be willing to quit later and go back to school?

For myself if I really wanted to go to school and the job was the means to pay for it, then I’d be willing to take the time off school to earn the money and go back next semester. It would also be a good idea to see if your employer would would be willing to allow you to come back if you went back to school. Some employers allow for full time or part time students to work around their class schedule. I know you said that your job isn’t flexible, but if you went part time to school would that fit the work schedule?

One of the best ways I found to resolve tough questions was to take a piece of paper and make two columns. One of all the positive things and one of all the negative things. In your case I’d do two pages. One for staying at the job, and one for going back to school. See which page has the longer positive column and which has the longer negative column. Sometimes when you spell it all out its easier to see which way you should go.

Good luck!

Answer #4

alright even tho i am in school (senior year of high)

I recomend BOTH! go 2 school in the morning and work later in the afternoon.

I’m 16 and have 2 awful jobs that i would never want 2 do for the rest of my life! deff. go to college and get some sort of a degree accounting nursing anything even very simple. employers look for that

best wishes Laur

The decision is in your hands but having an education will benefit you more, plus you can aim to become whatever it is you wnat to become in the future and all the hard work will pay off when you’ll be earning a whole lot more than you are now.

And with your education and experience you’ll have a greater chance in gaining better jobs elsewhere that you can work round.
