What is one problem your community faces and how would you fix it?

Answer #1

Not having enough problems…and create problems. our county is pretty rich. only school in the state with the One to One laptop initiative program. it gives us all laptops =)

Answer #2

My community has lots of projects and well frankly i think the goverment needs to do something about it. Obviously some people actualy need it to get back on their feet but then there are some just living off of the system. The goverment needs to filter the people out and give it to someone that actualy deserves it. There are sinlge mothers struggling to support their family while some just live off of food stamps and have a rent-free life selling dr.ugs and sadly the next generation will grow up the same way….i would love to start a petition to start some type of program to weed out the people who are parasites to the goverment and community.

Answer #3

One big problem my community faces is the community center wont let the local kids have any kid programs so the drug use and drinking rate has reached all time highs since i was in middle school and the community center had programs also the bullying rate has doubled so me and my brothers are actually holding peaceful protests in order to get programs back in fact this monday coming up he and a bunch of his friends in are going to march i thought it was pretty funny but its cool cause a bunch of adults will be with him and his friends so we hope it works.

Answer #4

Awesome! So, today is Tuesday. How did it go?

Answer #5

Katie, I hope you don’t mind me asking, where would you have those people go and what would you have them do instead? I’m sure you know how hard it is to find work now, even for people who do have the experience and job skills that those folks lack. I don’t mean to say I think things are fine as they are, but I’m interested to hear your alternative. Personally, I think we (as a society) just warehouse them in housing projects because we don’t want to deal with the problems of poverty in a serious way.

Answer #6

The police stopped them said that it was too dangerous to walk on the main roads like that…..MLK all over again…..They split up and continued to hold their signs and what not………And grouped back together closer to the WMC………The board of the WMC had police detail block the road because its “Bad Publicity” for them…….so my brother called his friend whose dad is head of the local newspaper and had him make it front cover news…..so there will be more on thursday about what is going down.

Answer #7

WMC btw is the Community Center Acronyms.

Answer #8

Sounds like your brother is getting an exciting hands-on education in democracy! Thanks so much for sharing it here, and please keep us posted. {:^)

How would you weed out these supposed parasites Katie?? Cause what you think is a “Parasite” the government thought they really needed the money and the government can look into alot more files than you could get your hands on at this point in life leave them alone if money was not going to them it would be going to war or whatever no matter how they take our money through taxes its used on useless crap we just have to go on with our lives my boss says this to new employees if you dont like the taxes move out of the country.
