Before you tell your mom, make sure you ARE pregnant…They have those kits, nowdays, that you can find out before you miss your period.

If it comes back positive, I know I’d redo it in a few days, just to be sure. Then you will have to tell mom. Maybe ask her out to eat lunch, or if you’d be more comfortable, tell her at home.

Her first reaction will “look” like anger, but I can assure you, it’s fear…fear for you, for your future, and fear of the unknown…she will calm down in a few days, and probably become your best asset during this time. She KNOWS what it takes to raise a child from baby to adulthood, so listen to her…she really will have YOUR best interests at heart. I’m not saying you have to do everything she says, or anything…just that you will benefit from hearing her out.

If it turns out your aren’t pregnant…then get on birth control…don’t kid yourself that you won’t have sex again…You’re 18, and it’s time to “care for self”…that means being responsible enough to plan your future, and NOT have it planned for you by accident…ok???

I know there is like 4years between us so things will be different for you and maybe easier as you are older, I left mine right till the last minute =| Literally, I told my mum like 2days before I was due to give birth to my son, I just one day blurted it all out because it had to be done, all she can do is have an opinion to your choice and at least she knows! My mum did not take to the idea and now were not even on talking terms but things will be different for you … Good luck!
