What can I plant in July?

What types of vegetables can I plant in July in upstate New York?

Answer #1

Tomatoes, bell and hot peppers, eggplants, potatoes (like night shade), Green beans and dried beans, sweet corn, Squash (zucchini and crookneck are among the best known), Melons (cantaloupes, honeydew, watermelon) and pumpkins.

These are some Summer vegetables that might work. A minimum of 4 hours of direct sun, and full sun is best.

Answer #2

Nothing much in Up State NY. Something very short growing priod. I suspect your frost is in Oct sometime. I’ll look into it but what comes to mind are simply lettuce and radishes….if you were looking for fruit you might be able to squeeze strawberries in.
