Does your phone literally over-heat in the sun?

I’ve left my phone out in the sun for about 10 minutes, and my friend told me to keep it in the shade, cuz the phone is black coated, and she said it will absorb the heat, and die, basically telling me reasons I wouldn’t expect. But I’ve left it out in the sun before, especially longer and it seems fine now.

Answer #1

It does over-heat, my mums broke completely last year when we were in Greece and she left in the sun on the beach.

Answer #2

Oh gees, that’s a shame :/ dang I never really thought about it, until she said something. Thanks for also letting me know^^

Answer #3

Yep they sure can and break

Answer #4

Do not leave anything “electronic” out in the sun. You see, transistors can overheat and enter a state of thermal-runaway. As well other electronic components, such as resistors can change their value when exposed to heat. Resistors work best below 25 degrees C.
