Should I get a perm?

Hi, I have naturally straight, thick long black hair and I’m thinking about getting a perm. I talked to one of my hair stylists and he sed that the most he could do would be giving me a perm that won’t be too curly. It would be wavyish but that it would look good..

The only thing that worries me is that I’ve read some expiriences of people who have gotten their hair permed and it gets badly damaged. I don’t want my hair to be too damaged and ugly but I don’t like having it straight all the time either or have to use a curling iron and taking like 3 hrs to curl it all because I have so much hair.

I’m not sure if I should get it or not… And also how long does the perming process take?

if he is a good stylist then you shouldnt have any problems with him damaging your hair. it takes about 2 hours depending on how many clients your stylist has. Im black so a perm on me has a different effect on my hair. I have long thick hair but for me it straightens it instead of curling it. Make sure you get a good conditioning in your hair as well to keep it looking shinny and purdy!
