What do you think about people who continuously argue with true facts, evidence, and proof?

Honestly, I can’t stand it. It makes them look extremely ignorant, and stubborn. It’s very annoying and aggravating.

Answer #1

They must be smart if they argue with facts lol

Answer #2

I feel the same way, and I ususally tell the if they know differant to prove it, that usually shuts them up

Answer #3

Those are generallly the people who you can’t win an argument with, so I just don’t bother.

Answer #4

I think that sometimes they are like Galileo:

Who was ridiculed for arguing that the Earth orbits the Sun, …..

at a time when every sane and rational person you were likely to speak to could see quite clearly with their own eyes that the Earth is stationary.

– Best wishes - Majikthise.

PS 1 + 1 = 1 (as proved by George Boole)

Answer #5

You see this the most in religious arguments. When it comes to people questioning their faith and what holds them together people tend to ignore anything that is said and proved to them. I guess thats one of the reasons i dont quite understand faith. It seems as if religion blinds people and even if they were slapped in the face with a book of evidence against everything they believe, they would continue to believe they are right. I think alot of it comes down to that they “need” to believe in order to stay sane and have hope in this world. Some people need to believe everything has a purpose and when they leave here they go to a better place.

Answer #6

Annoyed by them, nothing else. Simple thing to get them away is being silent. How long will they argue if you are mum…10 minute, 20 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day…..enough now

No na…so be Silent

Answer #7

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience?

Answer #8

I assume you mean people who argue against valid evidence without presenting any of their own.

There is a saying, you are allowed to have your own opinion but you are not allowed to have your own facts. In other words, you can have an opinion but you still have to acknowledge objective reality. When a group of similar thinking groups all report the same story citing each other it is refereed to as an echo chamber. Self-serving claims become fact for many people through repetition and without anyone to look at the claims critically the “facts” live forever.

The usual defense for untrue fringe “facts” is to accuse everyone else of bias since they refuse to acknowledge what you believe.

Answer #9

They just don’t want to be prived wrong and live in this fantasy where they think they are always right. I just leave it alone, let them be :)
