Answer #9

I honestly think there is something wrong with that man. I can’t really place it, but there is something wrong with him, like…idk….I don’t mean wrong like physically or aesthetically, but..spiritually maybe…no that’s not the word I want…..oye vey…umm…like the essence of him, him as a person, his aura…he gives me a weird vibe and i just don’t like it.

Answer #10

Politics is often the art of alienating the fewest number of people. Nobody is especially happy with President Obama; he isn’t liberal enough for liberals, isn’t conservative enough for conservatives, isn’t religious enough for the religious, isn’t secular enough for the non-religious, isn’t cosmopolitan enough for the elite, isn’t provincial enough for the common, isn’t aggressive enough for the hawks and isn’t peaceful enough for the doves, isn’t black enough for many blacks and isn’t white enough for many whites. He walks the middle path. It seems that America is unhappy with nominating and electing a moderate because once in office he turned out to be a moderate.

Answer #11

Apart from prophesizing what may have happened if Bush hadnt already messed up oh so royally, care to comment on what exact he has done (not some fantasy of what he could have done or will do…)

Answer #12

President Obama has done a lot already. He passed the stimulus bill that likely kept our nation from sliding into a depression. While Republicans attack it constantly money spent is already being paid back with interest and economists estimate it saved over a million jobs, kept GM from closing its doors and instead of going under it is making a profit again and rehiring laid off workers. I was disappointed that his bailout of banks didn’t come with more conditions (like breaking up banks that “were too big to fail” since they were de facto monopolies) but it did prevent bank failures. He is ending the tax breaks for corporations to send our jobs overseas. His health reform bill prevents insurance companies from excluding pre-existing conditions, prevents them from droping paying customers after they get sick, allows parents to keep their kids on their insurance until the age of 26. Reduced the price of medication for seniors. Extended the federal hate crime laws to include sexual orientation, Added benefits for same-sex partners of federal employees. Added $billions to the VA to deal with psychological problems of our returning soldiers. Has begun the withdrawal of our troops in Iraq, has set a deadline to close Guantanamo. Ended torture of American prisioners. Removed Federal limitations on stem-cell research. Extended funding for family planning services. White House no longer censors scientific reports that go against their “party line.” Has given the FDA authority to regulate tobacco. To me it is amazing how much he has accomplished considering the scorched earth policy of Republicans who’s main goal seems to be sinking his presidency rather than helping the nation.
