When is it safe to take my shih tzu 1 year old out for a walk after her first heat. She has been in heat for 2 weeks
the heat cycle last about 3 weeks, you can take your dog for a walk as long as she is on a leash and you are with her, if you are not planning on breeding her I recommend getting her spayed
as long as you’re with her I don’t see a problem with taking her for a walk during her heat.. its not her you have to worry about.. its other dogs.. if you don’t want the other dogs to follow you home I’d wait until she stops bleeding.. when the bleeding stops, she’s no longer sending out the “hey, get me pregnant” signals.
