Who knows about ovaries and hysterectomy's?

My mom had ovarian cysts, therefore she had to have a hysterectomy. I was just wondering if that is hereditary. I am worried that I might not be able to have kids because I might be just like my mom. She had 3 miscarriages before me, I was a miracle baby, she never could get pregnant again, then a few years ago, she had a hysterectomy. Is it possible that I will be the same way? My doctor will not test me to see if anything is wrong with me because he says I am too young to have a kid anyway and not to worry about it. I just want to know if it possible or not that I will be just like my mom.

It is possible yes, but really I see no reason your dr will not test you. They legally need to if you specifically ask especially if you have legitimate reason to worry. I have endometriosis and it was hereditary for me.

Thanks :(

ok your doctor sounds like an idiot. If you are worried about it, you should have it tested, then if there is a problem, you can get treatment. With this sort of thing, early treatment is important. I dont know if you would have the same problems as your mother but like Mackenzie said it is possible. However I think it would be good for you to have the tests, if for no other reason than for your own peace of mind.

Thanks, I might try to see a different doctor, and demand to get tested.

Answer #5

To be honest I would get a second opinion, i dont like this doctor being so damn careless & then if you wait they will say oh well if it would have been detected sooner then….ugh…sometimes doctors really p!ss me off to a point where i was to b!tch slap them silly. Give you false hope, give you false observations, wind up removing what you need & leaving you with something you clearly dont…if that isnt bad they then treat you like a guinea pig…(if you rather be called lab rat!) here try some of these…(like as if pills were candy with no side affect!) Dont ever just listen to what 1 doc says sweetie…try another doc! you can always have some of your eggs frozen for future emergencies!
