Answer #11

People throw words around like depressed and confuse them with depression or major depressive disorder. Is it common to feel SAD when you’re alone and think about the past, yes. It is also common not to feel sad. Some people like to reminisce.

Answer #12

I agree on that…but…the second it becomes more like having aching pain, loss of energy, loss of desire to live, loss of desire to be around people, loss of that zest for life, loss of will to get motivated or get some help & begin having thoughts of su!cide is when I call it depression!

There is simply being down, and being depressed.

Answer #13

yes. But that is a mood disorder and is not likely to be caused by simply thinking about the past. Also it has to last for a significant amount of time, and either cause impairment or distress.
