No exceptions?

Canadian citizen living in the US on greencard. Do not have an American or a Canadian passport, never have. I am currently in the process of applying for US citizenship. Just waiting for my interview/test. Are there any exceptions at all granted for emergency situations such as a funeral. I know I can leave the country but will need to return to my family here obviously. Thank you…

If you are Canadian you do have a Canadian passport, that’s obvious not unless you’re an alien from out of space, but I don’t believe that’s the case. So I don’t understand why you state you do not have a Canadian passport because you wouldn’t be here in USA unless your green card is a fake card which means you are an illegal citizen, and you’re right you can not travel anyway in the world, cause if you do you will be caught.

Now, if you have a green card in USA, you are consider a legal citizen, that means you can travel back and forth where ever you want anywhere in the world without any problems that includes attending funerals. Here’s the best part, if the funeral is for a close relative such as parent, sibling, grandparents uncles and aunts, you can get a flight and an upgrade anytime you want. Thanks to America!

You can not become a US citizen in emergency situations no matter what, you need to be a legal citizen in this country for five years in order to apply for citizenship; only then can you have dual citizenship.
