Need a class "a" or "b" truck driving job

I am a convicted felon still on parole. I recently completed a 8 week commercial truck driving course at a technical college and I cannot find a job anywhere with my class “a” cdl. and I have all the endorsements (except hazmat). large trucking companies will hire me straight out of school with no experience, but they won’t hire me with my criminal record. other hauling companies will hire me with my criminal record, but they want at least 1 year of otr (on the road) experience. so you see, I’m caught between a “rock and a hard place”. I’ve invested over two months and three thousand dollars into a career that society won’t even give me an opportunity to prove my worth. and by the way, my crimes were forgery and idenity fraud. how do I get a truck driving job in my situation? please help!!!

hello pissed off…I m from Augusta,ga also and have the same problem…The situation has improved for me though because my convictions will be 7yrs old next year..Even with that said it aint been easy to even get this far in a career I’ve been trying to get into for the last 3yrs..I dont know how much time has passed for you,but I do know that most wont even consider you if 7yrs hasnt passed..cdl schools wanted me to pay thousands with no job placement. If I had money like that to throw away I wouldnt need to drive truck..Anyway here are a few that are convict friendly..CRST..SCHNIEDER..CONVENANT..and SWIFT..Many of my friends drive OTR so they provide me with info..A friend said they just recently opened a ROADMASTER in southgate plaza, but sinc I moved from augusta cause opportunity is so limited I cant confirm that one..I plan on starting school in DEC.. so if all goes well I will be living my dream next year..I believe you probably went to the tech school in wrens..I tried that but my DUI conviction cancelled that out real quick..All I know homeboy is that once I am able I cant afford to take it for granted..regardless of how much time has passed for you..just know your half way there..and GOOD LUCK for sure cause without a doubt these convictions continue to keep us at the bottom of the pile regardless of what it was for and when it happened…with that said hold it down and feel free to hit me back any time..maybe we can help each other…munchkinross724519@yahoo.com…Take care and always keep that head up..they cant hold us back forever…I HOPE

Check and see if there are any oil field work in your area. In Texas it is so hard to find good help, so if your a dependable hard worker a lot of times they will look past your record. It is hard getting a start, what I done was start out driving locally, a lot of construction companies will look past your record although they may not pay much its a start. The oilfield is really the best way to go man, you can make a lot of money out here…good luck
