How can I get my nail polish to last longer?

it comes off so quickly?

Answer #1

Well a tip i always use, is by putting a clear coat underneath, it stops the natural oils from your nails making the polish chip, try keeping you nails clean and using clothes when cleaning and stuff.

Answer #2

Yeah a base coat is supposed to help it stay on longer. I don’t think I’ve noticed a deifference though - it really depends what nail polish you use. NYC colors stay on really long, you should try them!

Answer #3

Put clear coat before and after..thats what i do!!(:

Answer #4

I usually put a clear coat on top and on bottom of the nails/nail polish

Answer #5

on the tips of your nails people always put the least amount of nail polish there so more there because thats also where nail polish starts to chip

Answer #6

That’s fantastic! I’ve never heard of that, you should write it as a ‘tip’ if you haven’t already.

Answer #7

plus you put a top coat at the top

Answer #8

wouldnt that look funny tho, like lots of nail polish at the bottom and barely any at the top? lol

Answer #9

Wash your hands and scrub your nails with warm water before you put on nail polish, to remove the oils from your nails. Then first put on a bottom coat of clear nail polish and then put on two layers of the colour you want. Finally finish it off with a top coat of clear nail polish. Usually when I follow this routine I almost have a hard time getting my nail polish off again. ;-)

Answer #10

Always use a base coat and only apply thin coats instead of thicker and then apply your top coat. I use Sally Hansens which are good quality for little money.

Answer #11

Nail salons do two things:

  1. They put undercoat and topcoat

  2. When they add the color at the tips of your finger nails they finish off by sweeping the brush horizontally and finishing with the top coat and brushing horizontally. This seals the color from the most stressed point of your nails.

Answer #12

no not alot alot on the tips haha because thats the area most people barley ever put nail polish so you just have to make sure you put the same amount of nail polish there than any other area
