My negative attitude pisses him off, how to make him happy?

My friend is constantly having a go at me about not being confident enough, being self-concious and being paranoid, he like me when we first met and we nearly made it official once but these were the reasons he turned me down… He says my being depressed makes him feel depressed, I know even my best friends none of them like seeing me sad they try and talk to me about it and don’t act pissed off! But he makes a way bigger deal about it and gets angry, why? Sometimes I feel guilty about things that rent really my fault/my friend isnt that bothered about but to me it feels like I’m letting him down, (the other day he was helping me find the right bus stop to get home it was raining I kept apologising for making him come out in the rain) Any advice? What can I do to make him not get so angry I just want to make sure he always has a good time when he hangs out with me, I’m completely selfless when I always try and put him first and I talk to him and try and be in a good mood…

Your problem is that you are trying in all the wrong places. He is trying to please you while you are trying to please him. But to please someone else you have to be happy with where you are at and what you think about yourself. If you are not happy then how in the world will you make other people happy?

As long as you have a smile on your face he will be happier. As for being self-consious, do something about it! If you don’t like the way you look then change to be something better! There is no shame in bettering yourself. I hate how society is making people weak in telling them they’re fine just the way they are. No not everybody is fine and that’s why everyone should strive to better themselves.
