My friend really likes me more than a friend but I dont like him.

There is a guy in my class and we met a couple of months ago…he sits next to me. and we are friends now, but he just told me that he likes me as more than a friend, but I dont like him that way. we have a lot in common but I am just not attracted to him. and I think he is going to ask me out…and I think soon. but I dont want to go out with him and I dont want to hurt his feelings. what should I tell him? because if he asks me out and I say no then it will ruin our friend ship and the worst part is that I am going to have to sit next to him for 2 more months. I really dont want to hurt him!!! So I need to tell him something before he asks me out! I need help fast!!! Please! and the worst part is than I like his best friend…

well, guys are very sensitive “creatures,” even though they appear to be tough. You have to be very gentle when you break the news to him, say something along the lines of, “ We’re such great friends, and if we go out I would be afraid we might loose our friendship, which I would hate to loose because I value it sooo much.” He’ll come around eventually, and if he gets angry at you for saying no, then he’s a total jerk all together. well you could tell him that you really value his friendship and you are afraid that if you were to date, and it didn’t work out, that you would ruin the friendship that you have. you could just tell him that good friends are hard to find and you don’t want to do anything that would jeopardize the friendship you have. It is a true statement..you said you didn’t want to hurt him, and going out with him and not really liking him would hurt your friendship.
