My ferret is scratching a lot is that normal?

I have a ferret and she seems to be scratching herself a lot. I gave her a bath and washed her cage. If anyone has a ferret or knows a lot about ferrets please let me know if it is something I should be worried about or what I can do.

If you do give them a bath(which is okay) use a sulfur based shampoo. it helps sooth the skin. Follow up with a conditioner. I use loreal for kids on my dogs.

Ferrets do scratch a lot. But you don’t have to give them baths, it dries their skin out, that’s probably why she scratching

Answer #4

yeah Its normal, ferrets will wake up out of a deep sleep just to scratch like crazy, then go right back to sleep lol. Or even stop playing just to scratch crazily then go right back to juming around haha. But you should still get her checked for ear mites, fleas, and ticks at the vet at check-up time. and make sure you wash her every week with a flea and tick shampoo for cats. The least potent formula you can find though. Unless your vet gives you something special for ferrets.
