Does anyone have any idea why my dog would be so petrified of water, we always bathed him as a puppy, he never had any bad experiences with it, yet for some reason when I tried to bathe him on a hot day, he whined and cried bloody murder, you would have thought I was killing him.
If he his old he may have arthritis and it could be painful for him to stand for a long period of time
Probably too cold for him, I’ll try using luke warm water next time.

could the dog have been hurt in some way (so you touching something sensitive hurt, or putting soap on it?)
I don’t think so, he is in good health, old but in good health.
Could be but he hasn’t shown any signs of it, he stills runs and jumps and plays, yet he is a cocker spaniel and they are good at hiding any signs of pain and problems.
