How can I convince my Dad not to go to war?

My dad is wanting to go fight in the war or at least work as a medical reserve (he’s a highly trained anesthesiologist). What’s worse is that my mom supports him. If he does go, he’ll be gone for months at a time. What if he’s killed?! I don’t wanna lose my daddy!!! Is there anyway I can convince him to stay here with his family?!

Your Dad is being Honorable and Courageous - serving his country (preserving Freedom) and serving his fellow man (his life saving/preserving professional skills)…just keep him in your prayers and stop assuming the worse…not easy, we all have uncertainties, but respect his decision…he deserves your support and respect.

Dear kittykatlovr814, Ever woman and child feels the same way you do when their loved one goes to war. We fear they will not return or when they return they will be hurt. This is a normal reaction. Your parents believe in supporting this cause and they believe they must do something for their country. Although it is sad that he will leave he needs your support. If you continue to feel this dread about your dad leaving then seek out a counsellor they can really help with this type of situation. Sue
