What military route should I take?

It depends on your motivations and what you want to do. You can do almost any job in most branches. If you are looking for minimal risk for the most pay, join the Air Force. If you want to travel and see lots of places, join the Navy. If you want to get out on the pointy end of the stick where the action is, join the Army. My suggestion is to figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life once you get out and go from there. The above comment is not very helpful as no mercenary organization would even consider your application without prior military service, but it is a hell of a way to make a ton of money once you have combat experience.

Crap.. just read the rest of your question, sorry about that. What you need to do is get into any branch police service. The Navy MP’s do a lot of the stuff you seem most interested in and would be easier to jump into a more detective style role in the JAG office. If you are dead set on the Army, you need to find out more specific information than I know.
