Lord of the flies.

In english we have been studying Lord of the flies. For an essay I must write about leadership and usurpation in the book. ideas?

There wasn’t any good solid adult leadership within the group of lost boys, and that is why some of the boys went crazy as there was no adult supervision / authority.. …They didn’t have one particular boy who could take charge and get the other boys into line, hence the cruelty and murderous behaviour started to happen as one outspoken boy got way too carried away being a ‘leader’.

The only noticeable leadership I found after reading this book, was anyone who had the gift of the gab and could articulate what they needed to convey to the weaker members, had a much better chance of being the leader and recruit sheeps as followers, who were too scared or afraid to challenge their leader/s.

Therefore, in the book, the outspoken ones become leaders and took advantage of the weaker (personalities) boys and started killing off all the sensible boys except one who managed to escape.
