How long is anoestrus (stage of the oestrus cycle) in a horse?

Answer #1

I think it lasts all winter? Something to do with less daylight hours

Answer #2

“Horses are polyseasonal oestrus breeders. This means that they have many cycles over a particular season. For the horse this tends to be over Spring and Summer. Their body shuts down from cycling (goes into anoestrus) over Winter.”
