Is it legal to voice record your counseling sessions?

What if i ask and they say no? Then ill definitely not be able to do so. And i really would like to replay the advices and not let it go into thin air.

if they say no, you can explain your reasons, and if they still don’t agree to it then you can always bring a notepad and write the advice down.

Ehhh sometimes i record my professor’s voice in the class if i was absent-minded or had to text my friends It won’t harm me O.o so go for it :D

I would ask, because my friend was in a meeting and was recording the meeting on her phone, they realised she was doing it and asked her to stop. Different circumstance, but it is worth asking.

It’s definitely legal, and many (probably most) therapists will support your desire to do it. However, I don’t think they are obligated to let you record them, since they would be in the recording, too. If your therapist resists, you can either take Kahili’s advice to pause when you want to write something down so you can revisit it later, or you can look for a different therapist and ask them about recording before you set up a first appointment with them.
