Lawyer or Law Students Advice?

I’m fifteen and would really like to study Law in the future. The only trouble is do I need to be a straight A/B student for this and really clever or can I get by on motivation and ambition? Also I was wondering doesn anyone have any advice as to what you study for a degree in law?

Thanks.

Well I’m not an actual law student but I’ve taken up to 4U-Law in high school… [[And my best friend wants to be a lawyer]]

As fas as grades go, most law schools won’t except you if you have under a 70-75% avg, having an 80%+ is your best chance at getting in…

It’s a lot of memorizing, and theory work… So while ambition, etc will help, the main thing is you need to understand the material, be able to identify and separate different aspects of it, and work through it to come to a conclusion.

And as for what to study… I like international law the most… I find that the topics that you get to analyze, discuss and work with are more interesting… But you’ll find out what you like best, if you decide to go for it =P

Oh and while in high school you need for your English marks to be pretty exceptional, and it also helps to take some law and higher level math courses on the side. =]

Good Luck =]

motivation and ambition alone won’t get you into law school. Actually admission to the good law schools is a combination of high LSAT scores, top grades and a well rounded life, charity work, etc.

Answer #3

Study for the LSAT; grades are not nearly as important as your score on the LSAT. Get as many books as you can on debating and english (which is what the LSAT covers). Knowledge of law isn’t really important, its how well you argue that the schools look at.
