Kitten rectum Bleeding

I just bought my kitten he was born on May 5. according to his records he was dewormed on 5/16 and then again on 5/25.

My question is, Is it normal for him to still be bleeding?

Hi,

If you bought this kitten, he is only 3.5 weeks old. He should not have been dewormed so young and should not be away from his mother.

What are you feeding him? Also what dewormer was used? Many dewormers, such as Nemex, only treat certain types of worms, and not all of them. There are three types, tapeworms, roundworms and hookworms, and not all medicines cure all 3 types. So he could still have at least 1 type of worm. Also he should be bottlefed formula, not hard food.

I’d suggest you take the kitten to whoever sold it to you and demand that it stay with his mother for another 2.5 weeks.

You kitten shouldn’t be bleeding from the rectum…wormed or not. If the person you PAID money to, told you he was…and they actually let this kitten go at 3 1/2 weeks, then that says to me, that the chances that it was wormed at all, are probably nil.

You get that baby into a vet…have them “age” it, and tell you how to care for it, if it is as young as you think it is…He needs “special” care from you…and that information will be at the Vets.
