How can I get my kitten to use the litter box?

She won’t use it?

Answer #1

You need to train her to know that’s where she must use the bathroom. If she goes in the house, you need to properly punish her.

Answer #2

How old is this kitten? Mama cats, left to their own devices don’t wean babies until they are almost 4 months old. In that time THEY train babies to use the litter box. So don’t be punishing the kitty, you’re liable to make it harder to train. You don’t want her afraid of you.

You’ve got to keep the box where the kitten can find it easily…little by little you can move it to a not so obvious place…If the kitten is very young, you have to put it in the box over and over, so it understands this is where I go potty.

Answer #3

If you catch her in the act of going somewhere else pick her up and put her in the litter box. After doing that a few times she’ll learn where to go.

Answer #4

lay a peice of newspaper down, when your kitty looks as though she wants to go the toilet, circling and pawing at the floor, let her do it then pick up the soiled newspaper and place it in the litter tray, a few times a day take ur kitty to the litter tray, that way she will know that this is where the scent of her waste is, also once that part has been devloped if you start using litter teach her to cover her waste, after shes done her buisness take her front paws one at a time and cover the waste using her feet, shel pick up that shes meant to cover it
