Why don't we kiss on the cheek in the US as a greeting?

I have been in others countries and when a boy meets a girl he kiss her in her cheek like a way of saying hello, I like that kind of greeting but if I do that in new york people could say is innapropiate or something crazy like that. Why is this like that in this country. its a little boring.

It’s all about what we evolve socially to…people in spain evolved to say hello by kissing on cheeks…in NY people say hey by saying “Yo biatch whats up”..pardon my language but its just how people change from place to place and time to time…
